Paint Shop Pro Tutorial: How to Give an Extreme Makeover

With the help of a Paint Shop Pro tutorial, you can learn how to do just about anything with a photo. You can alter an image to make it look the way you want, depending on your skill level. With the basic knowledge of how to give extreme makeovers with Paint Shop Pro tutorial, you can become an expert in no time. Below are the necessary steps to give an extreme makeover.

Step 1: Choose a Subject

In a photo, you will want to focus on one specific person to give the makeover to. When you are just starting out, you should pick a picture of just that person. Make sure that their face, hair and skin has good lighting, not too much, not too little. Once you have become more familiar with the art of extreme makeovers, you can move on to more difficult subjects and photos.

Step 2: Teeth Whitening

If your subject is smiling with their teeth showing, then this will give you the opportunity to use the teeth whitening tool. When you are looking at the toolbar on the left hand side of the screen, you will see a 'makeover' tool. Once you click on the makeover tool, you will be provided with a whole new toolbar filled with makeover tools. For teeth whitening, there will be a little toothbrush for you to click on to activate this feature.

When choosing the strength for this tool, it is wise to begin at fifty. The stronger you go, the brighter they will be. You don't want to go too white, as this will make the teeth seem unnatural. Move the cursor onto the teeth until the cursor changes into a toothbrush. Click on the area of the teeth that the toothbrush is rested over. This will whiten the teeth immediately.

Step 3: Blemish Removal

Zoom into any area that needs a little retouching. Be sure to use small brushes; it may take longer, but it will make the skin look less blotchy and unnatural. In the toolbar, you will see the blemish remover icon. The ideal size should be at an 8, and the strength should be at about 92; play around with the numbers to get the one that works best for your subject. When you have gotten to the area that you wish to correct, allow the cursor to turn into a lipstick icon. Click on this area and around it to remove the blemish.

Step 4: Suntan

The suntan tool is on the left hand side of the toolbar. The toolbar will change into options for the suntan tool. Set your strength and size, and play around with the strength--it will vary from person to person. Once you have gotten the necessary strength, zoom into the area that needs to be tanned.

This may take awhile, but the more time you spend on it, the more natural it will ultimately look. Paint over the desired areas and zoom in even more to get all of the areas near the clothing, hair, lips and eyes.

Be sure to save your work in between each project to ensure that you don't lose anything.
